Memorial Day Ceremony 2024

Victory Center Tribute to Col Marty Zickert

The Victory Center provided a tribute to Col Martin Zickert for his support in establishing the Victory Center Military Store at the Indian River Mall. A picture of Marty will be displayed at the Military Store on a permanent basis. The tribute included Marty’s Son and his wife as Guest Speakers.

Officer Installation Dinner April 2021

The April Detachment meeting was a dinner meeting held at Sean Ryan Pub in downtown Vero Beach. The dinner was enjoyed by all. During the meeting the 2021-2022 elected and appointed Detachment Officers were formally installed by District Vice Commandant Mike Ambrosino.

Dinner Meeting December 2019

The December 2019 Detachment meeting was a dinner meeting at CJ Cannons at the Vero Beach Airport. Attending members and spouses enjoyed their meal and the camaraderie.      Semper Fi

Vero Beach 100 year Centennial Parade

The Indian River Detachment Marine Corps League participated in the Vero Beach 100 Year Centennial Parade by providing a Color Guard and a Vehicle. Sue Brooks drove the vehicle accompanied by Commandant Dwight Harris and Dave Phillips. The Color Guard participants marched in front of the vehicle and consisted of John Harris, Ron Brooks, Earl Calvin, District Vice Commandant Mike Ambrosino and Frank Baudo. In spite of a sudden down pour of rain at the end of the parade, all went well and the Color Guard was enthusiastically applauded by the attendees.

Veterans Day 2019

The Detachment provided a Color Guard at the Veterans Day Ceremony at Memorial Island in the morning and a Color Guard in the evening at the Elks Club and the Woodfield Subdivision Clubhouse.  Dwight Harris rang the Ship’s Bell during the Veterans Day Ceremony on the Island.

Flag Day Ceremony at Elks Club
